Loving this striped dress on Lily Taylor. It’s from my Holiday 2013 line.

One of my fave vintage shows is at the Santa Monica Civic a few times a year. Speed shopper Mr Turk was a stylist for years and scopes out the entire show in the time it takes me to do a few booths. There’s always something to inspire the TT collection, and always something excellent to add to my closet. An added bonus is the groovy Welton Becket designed building!

This evening Jonathan and I made our annual pilgrimage across town to the LA Modernism Show preview party. It was more socializing than shopping! Highlights included Raymond Loewy’s own personally designed Jaguar, an artful tableau of objet at The Window, and a groovy Italian chair by Baffo Groupo in which Mr Turk toasts to modernism.
Prepping to launch our second “Spirit of Summer” Collection. Here’s a sneak peek!

Men’s Fashion at Coachella is always a continuum from the very simple, some might say boring, to the outrageous. While I must say I enjoy seeing some guy in a massive sombrero and platform shoes the fashion that interests me more is the less costume-y but interesting and creative looks. This year was a good year for men’s trend spotting. Color, texture, and pattern were seen in all kinds of stylistic choices. Here are some of my favorites. Full disclosure, Felix Bujo and Philippe LeBlond are wearing Mr Turk. I gave them a rack of clothes and let them put outfits together. Couldn’t resist including them.

Part of the fashion story last weekend at Coachella was patterns! I hit the festival with my pals, fashion designer Trina Turk and her husband Jonathan Skow, photographer and designer for their men’s line Mr. Turk.
Since I’m more audio than visual, it was great to see the sea of pattern and color through their eyes…
